Laptops are great but not during a lecture or a meeting.

I will not be banning electronic note taking in FINA 470, but this is great for thought.  You may want to voluntarily reduce your usage of electronic devices for note taking.

There are better alternatives than your laptop to take notes and enhance your learning.
