Students do it. Professors do it. Why does everyone do it?

We are talking about procrastination.  In particular why we prefer to focus on the urgent and unimportant rather than less urgent but more important long term projects (like your case study submission).  The NY Times also offers up this approach to the problem courtesy of our 34th President of the United States.
