The first interactive infographic is very clever and it is quite informative regarding the lobbying efforts to shape the final regulations under Dodd-Frank. DB’s strategy is focused on shrinking its assets and issuing hybrid securities. BaFin estimates that Germany’s two largest banks (DB and Commerz) were €14b short of Basel III capital at the end of last year compared to €32b at the end of June 2012.
Davis Polk has provided a Client Memorandum which provides an excellent summary of Basel III Leverage Ratio proposals as well as “The American Add-on.” The memorandum includes an implementation timeline and a discussion of accounting difference reconciliation.
